Limiting Germs in Your Life

Germs are unfortunately everywhere you can imagine. They can be found on your computer keyboard, make up bags, doorknobs, cell phones and even on yourself! As we touch surfaces and objects throughout the day, we accumulate germs on our hands. Germs can affect our health and wellbeing as it put us at a higher risk of infecting ourselves when touching our eyes, mouth and nose thus causing sickness, infections and illnesses.

When you wash your hands with an antibacterial soap/ liquid on a regular basis, you limit the spread of germs, bacteria and other microbes that foster diseases. Hands should especially be washed before food preparation, eating, giving medicine, wearing/removing contact lenses after touching animals or pets, before or after visiting a sick friend, blowing you nose, sneezing, handling garbage and of course, when they look and feel dirty.

Instructions to wash your hands:

  1. Wet your hands.
  2. Apply soap liquid or bar of soap.
  3. Lather well. Rub your hands vigorously for at least 20 seconds. Remember to scrub all surfaces, including the backs of your hands, wrists, between your fingers and under your fingernails.
  4. Rinse well with running water.
  5. Dry your hands with a clean disposable towel or hand dryer. If possible, use your towel/tissue paper.

This will not only reduce the incidence of spreading germs around but will also pave the road for a healthier life.
